Abstract
A measure of the strength of association betwen 2 categorical variables (location of initial marking and location of recapture) is proposed as an index of the extent of fish movement in streams. Confidence intervals and tests of significance for interpretation of the strength of association are presented, along with their development and theoretical justification. The proposed methodology is applied to fish movement data collected before and after pollution abatement periods in a river in northern Utah [USA].This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
