Abstract
DURING the recent epidemic of Asian influenza, certain neurologic syndromes have arisen in patients convalescing from this disease. The purpose of this paper is to describe 5 such cases in detail and to present laboratory evidence supporting the diagnosis of Asian influenza in these patients.Case ReportsCase 1. R.D., a 16-year-old boy, was admitted to the Colorado General Hospital on October 15, 1957. Seven days previously he experienced an illness characterized by a temperature of 104°F., an unproductive cough, malaise, headache and weakness.
