Abstract
An experimental investigation into flow through shaped gauze screens in two-dimensional and axisymmetric situations has shown that there is disagreement between measured velocity profiles and those computed from the method developed by Elder (1958). This disagreement has been shown to be attributable to the retention of a term of second order in the basic linearization and comparisons between experimental and theoretical profiles omitting this term are in good agreement. Keywords
