Abstract
Mutations of the p53 tumor suppressor gene are common in astrocytomas that occur in adults but are rarely found in astrocytomas or medulloblastomas of children. This difference may contribute to the overall better prognosis of astrocytomas in children and potentially make pediatric astrocytomas and medulloblastomas more sensitive to antitumor therapy. Keywords
