Abstract
Nitroakridin 3582, 2,3-dimethoxy-6-nitro-9(-diethyl-amino-oxy-propyl) aminoacridine-dihydrochloride, had an inhibitory effect on the growth of type B (Lee) influenza virus in eggs. 0.5 mg. of nitroakridin 3582 almost completely suppressed the growth of 1-10 minimal infecting doses of virus. When larger amts. of virus were inoculated, growth was not prevented but the final virus conc. in treated eggs was generally lower than in untreated infected controls. Virus levels in the treated and untreated eggs were determined by red cell agglutination technique. Keywords
