Abstract
The acoustic de Haas van Alphen effect of the low carrier compound CeSb has been measured by a homemade dilution refrigerator. The heavy hole orbit of β 4 in the ferromagnetic phase has been clearly observed. The cyclotron effective mass of β 4 under the magnetic field along [001] direction was 4.3 m 0 . The angular dependence of the cross-sectional area of β 4 is well explained by the band calculation based on the p - f mixing model. Some aspects of the electron-strain interaction obtained by the oscillation intensity of the elastic constant are discussed. Keywords
