Abstract
The influence of propagule length, plantation depth, soil type and irrigants on root growth of Rhizophora spp. was studied. Propagule lengths of 25–30 cm for R. apiculata and 25-40 cm for R. mucronata planted to a depth of one third of their length in a siltyclay substratum irrigated with 15 g.r sea water for R. mucronata and fresh water for R. apiculata showed better rooting and establishment of mangrove seedlings in nursery conditions. Keywords
