Abstract
Summary: A patient is described in whom malignant hypertension led to oliguric renal failure. A course of trimethoprim and sulphamethoxazole (co-trimoxazole) was prescribed for an intercurrent urinary tract infection and appeared to precipitate a megaloblastic anaemia which responded satisfactorily to folic acid. Keywords
