Abstract
This article describes the role of the research nurse in palliative care clinical trials. The need for these trials has been well documented, and there is a requirement to produce evidence that interventions employed in everyday practice actually work. This paper describes the explicit components and the multifaceted nature of the role of the research nurse in clinical trials in palliative care, and discusses the important part they can play in the advancement of this multidisciplinary specialty. Keywords
