Abstract
This paper deals with measurements of the internal pressure, Pi, carried out on cis-1,4-polybutadiene (97% cis structures). The values obtained for Pi, which represents a measure of molecular cohesive forces, show that a sharp drop in internal cohesion takes place at a temperature of about 57° C. This accounts for the behavior exhibited by this elastomer when processed on a roll mill at the same temperature.Keywords
