Abstract
The rates of O2 consumption and aerobic and anaerobic glycolysis of individual rat anterior pituitaries were studied. The rats were 97-108 days old. They were examined at proestrus, estrus, diestrus and 6 weeks after spaying. The metabolic rates were highest in the order mentioned, although the total anterior pituitary metabolism was about the same in proestrus and estrus and in diestrus and spayed rats because of the weight differences in these states. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
