Lattice Vibrations of LiYF4

Abstract
The long wavelength phonon spectra of single crystal LiYF4 have been studied by means of Raman scattering and infrared emittance and absorption. The observed phonons have been assigned to the various irreducible representations of the point group of the crystal. Symmetry coordinates for these vibrations are given.Keywords
