Abstract
The relationship between the divergence condition for current operators coupled to vector fields and the equal-time commutator of these operators is described, and the assumptions that are necessary for this connection are made explicit. Both the cases of classical and quantized vector fields are treated in a manner that exhibits their similarity. Keywords
