Abstract
Temperature distributions in cylindrical furnaces are discussed, and design data are given which permit the construction of short furnaces in which the temperature varies less than 0.5% along the central half of the length of the heater. Formulae are also given for the calculation of temperature distributions in conventional furnaces with uniformly wound heaters. Keywords
