Partial reinforcement and nonresponse acquisition.

Abstract
60 rats were given identical training in an elevated T-maze and were then separated into 4 groups for treatments in the goal box. 3 groups were placed in the goal box and received 100%, 50%, or 0% rewards, while a control group was placed on a neutral platform. Extinction followed for all groups. The results indicated: the rewarded nonresponse acquisition groups performed better than the nonrewarded group, partial reward had the typical effect on correct turns but had a nonsignificant effect on running time, the control group performed as well or better than any other group.
