Abstract
A method of collection and extraction of a sex lure from female pink bollworms (Pectinophora gossypiella) is presented. The extracts were specifically attractive to males and competitive with the females in mixed populations. An extract from 6 copulating pairs still remained attractive on the 32nd day after extraction. The attractant was more effective for 5-, 7-, and 12-day-old virgin males than for 1- and 3-day-old in both 1-hour and 15- to 24-hour trappings. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
