Abstract
Five samples of HbO2 or HbCO were purified by three different procedures, intended to remove non-haemoglobin iron and material causing turbidity at pH 7. εmM for HbCN at 540 was determined on the basis of iron analysis and found to be 11.00±0.14. The value agreed upon at the Lisbon conference as a useful standard for spectrophotometric haemoglobinometry, 11.0, is thus experimentally confirmed. Keywords
