Abstract
1. Thirty-nine patients with rheumatoid arthritis who had had a MacIntosh tibial plateau hemiarthroplasty are reviewed. 2. From the clinical findings it is possible to suggest a basis for the selection of suitable patients for the procedure. 3. Eighty-five per cent of the patients obtained relief of pain with good function of the knee. 4. The complications were infection and instability of the prosthesis. Keywords
