Abstract
Nine insecticide dusts were applied to replicated plots by broadcasting, banding, and furrowing. Aldrin, 2.5%,chlordane, 5%,dieldrin, 2.5% and parathion, 1%, significantly reduced the maggot when compared with the untreated check. Dusts of aldrin, chlordane, dieldrin, lindane, and parathion, applied in the furrow with the radish seed on five planting dates also reduced the maggot. Off-flavor and abnormal growth were detected in lindane treatment of radishes. Heavy applications of lindane, benzene hexachloride, and chlordane dusts to radish seed planted in the greenhouse caused some stunting of plants, whereas no stunting was observed in the aldrin and dieldrin treatments. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
