Abstract
The contour interval is 1,000 feet, which is too coarse to resolve many local details, even though the structural configurations are derived from detailed 3D interpretations in some areas. 3. The Monterey Formation was selected as being the most representative horizon to illustrate the results of the tectonic events that have shaped the area since the end of Monterey deposition approximately 6 million years ago. The Monterey is also an important petroliferous formation that is the source and reservoir for much of the oil and gas that has been and will be produced in the future from the Santa Barbara Channel.Keywords
