Abstract
A panoramic rapid scanning sector mass spectrometer is described. A mass range of ten to one may be scanned in times ranging from 10 msec to 300 μsec; the peaks are displayed on the screen of an oscilloscope. Alternatively, single peak height variations may be displayed down to times of 10 μsec. The instrument is designed for following gas reactions at pressures up to 200 mm and temperatures up to 450°C. Some comparison is made with fast‐scanning time‐of‐flight instruments. Keywords
