Abstract
Saturation of a specific region of a chromosome with conditional lethal mutations becomes increasingly difficult as the genome size of the organism increases. We show that mutagenesis of cloned genes followed by their re-integration into a non-mutagenized organism is a pracfical way to circumvent this difficulty. Keywords
