Abstract
According to Sommers (1976) a spinor field xi A which satisfies xi A xi BA'A xi B=0 and is a p-fold principal spinor (p>or=1) of a massless field of spin 1/2(p+q) is also a repeated principal spinor of the gravitational field (unless p=3q+2). A new and much simplified proof of this result is established here. Keywords
