Abstract
A comparison between pipette and sedigraph analyses has been carried out on Holocene sediments from Lake Ådran, eastern Sweden. The results show large discrepancies between the methods, especially in the clay and fine silt fractions. The differences are possibly due to a high diatom content (biogenic silica) in the gyttja sediments, and a high mica content in the minerogenic sediments.
