The Genus Cantharellus in the Western United States

Abstract
The members of the genus in western U. S. A. are reviewed. The genus belongs to the Cantharellaceae together with Craterellus, Lepto-tus, and Arrhenia. 5 sections are recognized: Polyozellus, Gomphus, Eu- Cantharellus, Excavatus and Tubaeformis Cantharellula umbonata, Clitocybe olidus and C. aurantiacus, formerly placed in Cantharellus, are excluded from it. A key to the spp. is given and the following are discussed in detail: Cantharellus multiplex*, C. pseudoclavatus Smith, C. clava-tus*, C. subalbidus*, Wash., Ore., Calif., C. cibarius*, C. kauffmanii*, Smith, Ore., and Wash., C. floccosus*, C. floccosus f. rainieriensis*, Wash., C. floccosus f. wilsonii*, Calif., C. floccosus f. excavatus*, Calif., C. bonarii*, C. wilkinsae* Morse, Calif., C. tubaeformis* and C. infundibuliformis.Keywords
