Abstract
The influence of autoionisation resonances in Tl atoms on the photoionization cross section angular distribution and spin polarisation of photoelectrons is considered using the random-phase approximation with exchange. A new effective method of producing the spin-polarised electrons is proposed. The method consists of irradiating Tl atoms by a circularly polarised light source of wavelength and width equal, respectively, to the wavelength and width of the autoionisation resonance with total angular momentum J=1/2.Keywords
