Abstract
Thermoelectric power and dc conductivity were measured as a function of temperature for Si–As–Te and Ge–As–Te glasses. The activation energies obtained from the temperature dependence of the thermoelectric power were smaller than those obtained from dc conductivity. This discrepancy in the activation energy was successfully explained by assuming that the predominant carriers (holes) have thermally-activated mobilities. Keywords
