Abstract
Although the biology of the oyster Ostrea edults has been well studied, its growth has received little attention. Orton (1928) worked on the populations in the Rivers Fal and Blackwater, but his conclusions have not been supported by Havinga (1928) or Korringa (1955), while America studies on Crassostrea virginica have given further evidence of the need for new investigations. Keywords
