Studies on North American Fairy Shrimps with the Description of Two New Species

Abstract
The known geographic range of 16 spp. extended by new field records and new records of some uncommon spp. listed. Fairy shrimp records from Florida are reviewed and 2 new spp. descr. Eubranchipus floridanus and Branchinella alachua. New records are given of the occurrence of 2 or more spp. of Anostraca in the same pool. For E. vernalis, E. serratus, and S. seali anomalous appendages are descr. Fluctuations of populations of fairy shrimps in e. central Illinois are tabulated for 1945-50 and compared with earlier published records. The populations of 1947 were poorest while those of 1949 were the most abundant and widely spread during the term of this study.
