Abstract
Immunocytochemical staining has shown that the median neurosecretory cells (MNC) of the brain of the blowfly, Calliphora vomitoria, contain an insulin-like material which cross reacts with antibodies to bovine insulin. There are 24–26 paraldehyde fuchsin-positive MNC of which only 6–8 show the specific insulin-like immunoreactivity. Keywords
