Abstract
The presence of regional lymph node metastasis is the most powerfulprognostic factor for predicting recurrence and survival in patients withmost solid tumors. Identification of patients with occult metastasis is vitallyimportant for staging and treatment planning. Lymphatic mapping and sentinelnode biopsy have become the standard of care for melanoma at most major melanomacenters and university melanoma programs.1-3Keywords
