Band structure in neutron-deficientXe117,119,121nuclei

Abstract
Collective features of odd-N Xe117,119,121 have been investigated via Cd106,110(N14,p2n)Xe117,121 and Cd106(O16,2pn)Xe119 reactions. In-beam γ-ray excitation, γγ coincidence, and γW(θ) measurements were performed to establish decay schemes, γ-ray multipolarities, and Jπ assignments. Strong ΔJ=2 band structures, associated with the 1h12 quasi-neutron band, were observed on 11/2 states in the Xe117,119,121 nuclei. The unfavored ΔJ=2 sidebands, which crossover in energy at the N=64 subshell (Xe119 core), were weakly observed down to the 9/2 member in all three nuclei. Systematics of these 1h12 band structures in odd-Xe nuclei are presented and discussed in terms of the current theoretical models. A second collective feature, a ΔJ=1 band structure built on 1g12 quasi-neutron-hole states, was observed in the Xe119,121 nuclei.
