Abstract
THIS study reviews the long-term clinical courses of patients with basal diastolic murmurs and dominant mitral stenosis.MethodsReviewed were the records of 81 patients under supervision in the same cardiac clinic since childhood, including 35 who died during the period of observation. Most of the patients were examined and followed by us. Selection was based entirely on the presence of a basal diastolic murmur, regardless of the site of its maximal intensity, in patients with mitral stenosis. Pulse pressure was considered increased when it exceeded 60 mm. and the diastolic blood pressure was 50 mm. or less. For purposes . . .Keywords
