Abstract
It is shown that the scaling of all three structure functions implies bounds for the mean values of and . When the bounds are analyzed in view of the recent CERN data, they become so restrictive that they essentially reduce to equalities. Bounds for are translated into bounds for the integral and are compared with the corresponding integral in electroproduction. Effects induced by the presence of an intermediate vector boson or heavy leptons are also analyzed.
