Abstract
A case is presented of primary argentaffinoma of the ovary, without metastases, that gave rise to the systemic manifestation of the carcinoid syndrome. Removal of the tumour led to regression of all symptoms. This case illustrates that single argentaffinoma tumours which drain directly into the systemic venous system may cause the carcinoid syndrome and removal may be curative in that the disease process is arrested. Keywords
