Abstract
The anatomy of the hindbrains of cyprinoid fish is correlated with their feeding habits. The present paper describes the brains of the Cyprinodonts Gambusia affinus, Lebistes reticulatus, Haplochilus melano-stigma and Panchax parvus, which have in common mouths directed upwards, large eyes, well developed optic and somatic-sensory lobes, and central acoustic areas, showing the brain structure to conform to the surface sight-feeding habits of these fish. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
