Abstract
This paper by Catriona Kennedy offers a personal account of the use of participant observation as a tool for exploring and uncovering the knowledge base of experienced district nurses in relation to first assessment visits. Currently, many district nurses (DNs) are educated to degree level. However, despite a long history of educational provision for DNs, the research base available to support their practice is limited.Keywords
