THE EFFECT OF BUILDING DESIGN VARIATIONS ON AIR-CONDITIONING LOADS

Abstract
This paper outlines a computer-assisted method of calculating internal temperatures and air-conditioning loads in buildings which is well suited to exploring the effect of building design alternatives on the sensible portion of the air-conditioning load. The fast computer programme which implements the method makes it feasible to consider many variations of a basic design in a short time. The data necessary for the operation of the computer programme are briefly described and an example is given to demonstrate the programme's capability.
