The Injection of Epinephrine During General Anesthesia With Halogenated Hydrocarbons and Cyclopropane in Man 3. Cyclopropane

Abstract
The subcutaneous injection of epinephrine during cyclopropane-O2, anesthesia caused ventricular arrhythmias in 30% of the patients studied despite careful attention to adequate ventilation and depth of anesthesia. This finding is contrasted with the low incidence of arrhythmias in similar studies with nitrous oxide-trichlorethylene or halothane anesthesia. Possible explanations for these differences were discussed.
