Identification an Yields of ((γ,αn) Reactions

Abstract
The (γ,αn) reaction was studied in several nuclides by irradiation with photons of 50- and 87-Mev maximum energy from the betatron. By use of radiochemical techniques it was shown that C11 is produced from oxygen, F18 from sodium, P30 and P32 from chlorine, Ga70 from arsenic, As74 and As76 from bromine, and Zr87 from molybdenum. Except for P32, it is proposed that these nuclides are produced by the (γ,αn) reaction. The yields of these nuclides relative to N13 from the N14(γ,n)N13 reaction and those of other nuclides observed in this study are given.
