THE VALUE OF ANGIOGRAPHY IN THE DANDY-WALKER SYNDROME AND POSTERIOR FOSSA EXTRA-AXIAL CYSTS

Abstract
(1) Among the causes of progressive macrocephaly, with or without hydrocephalus, Dandy-Walker syndrome and posterior fossa extra-axial cyst are 2 mutually exclusive entities to be considered. (2) Two cases of posterior fossa extraaxial cyst and 1 case of Dandy-Walker syndrome are presented to illustrate how these entities may be clearly differentiated by angiography and by air studies. (3) The significance of observing the details of arteriography in the posterior fossa is described.
