Abstract
It has been confirmed that 30 hours' loss of sleep can seriously impair performance towards the end of a 2u-min tost of serial reaction. In particular, the occurrence of gaps, or abnormally long response delays, is greatly increased. This is what happens when the test is a continuous one; when 30-sec rest pauses were allowed every 5 miii this effect nf lack of sleep was found to remain unaltered, an equal though small and insignificant improvement in performance occurring under both normal and sleep-deprived conditions. Keywords
