Abstract
Absorption cross-section values for polarized light have been measured for pink-ruby specimens by a multiple thickness correlation method. The values (in 10−20 cm2) are: σB‖ = 38.1, σG⊥ = 22.8, σB⊥ = 22.5, σG‖ = 7.23, , , , and , where B and G stand for the blue and green broad bands, R1, R2, the R-lines.
