Abstract
A optically pumped CO2 laser, which is excited by a 100‐mJ HBr laser, produces 1 mJ of multiline energy per pulse. Extensive stepwise tuning is accomplished by means of an intracavity grating and by using various isotopic forms of CO2. A technique which enables measurement of the CO2 (0110) relaxation time by HBr is described. Keywords
