Possible Propranolol-Myotonin Association

Abstract
To the Editor: Propranolol is being used increasingly in both medical and neurologic practice. We should like to call attention to a possible neuromuscular complication associated with this drug. In a patient seen recently at our institution, we noted muscle weakness accompanied by myotonia, which improved upon withdrawal of propranolol.A 57-year-old man was admitted to the hospital in February, 1977, with stiffness of the knees and difficulty with climbing stairs and arising out of a chair.
