Abstract
Translational energy spectra of the Ne+ ions produced by one-electron capture processes in Ne2+(3P, 1D, 1S)-H2 collisions were observed with a high-resolution spectrometer. It was ascertained that the process Ne2+(1S)+H2(X 1 Sigma , v'=0) to Ne+(2S)+H2+(X 2 Sigma , v=0-8) is the principal reaction channel. No peaks corresponding to the charge transfer processes initiated from Ne2+(3P and 1D) were observed except for weak and diffuse signals attributed to the dissociative charge transfer process. This can be explained by the concept of the 'reaction window', viz. the Rc dependence of the cross sections. The relative cross sections for vibrational excitation of products H2+ and their collision energy dependence were measured in the incident ion energy range from 0.5 to 2 keV.Keywords
