In physical measurements of exponentially decaying pulses, two questions naturally arise: (1) Is the waveform really just a simple exponential? (2) And if so, what is the time constant? It is shown here both of these questions can be answered easily by using a phase‐plane plot rather than by the conventional time‐function display.
