Abstract
Comparative studies on the tuberculin potency and antigenicity of tuberculoproteins (PPD-S and [pi]) and tuberculin-active peptide were carried out. The tuberculin potency of the peptide was a little weaker than that of PPD-S or [pi] in skin tests in guinea pigs. The peptide was not able to induce either the tuberculin or the anaphylactic type of hypersensitivity in guinea pigs in a dose of 5 mg. The tuberculoproteins did induce tuberculin hypersensitivity, PPD-S having a stronger effect than [pi].Keywords
