Abstract
An agglutination reaction using autoclaved (120[degree]C for 2 hrs.) hemolytic streptococci has been described and investigated. It has been used in this study with samples of serum from patients with rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis, and streptococcal diseases, as well as with other conditions. The agglutination titers in groups of patients with rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis, and streptococcal diseases did not differ significantly one from the other. The titers in each of these conditions were significantly higher than in the control groups.
