Abstract
Pollen samples were obtained from dandelion, willow, maple, plum, alder, and some unidentified plants. The free amino acids were detd. by partition chromatography on filter paper (Condsen et al. Biochem. Jour. 38: 224-32. 1944). Separation was done on 2-dimensional chromatograms . It was shown that pollen contains a large number of amino acids which vary with different pollen spp. There are also variations in the same pollen spp. between the free amino acids and those which are constituents of the protein molecules. The chromatograms appeared to show histamine, seen on the free amino acid chromatograms of the pollen mixture. Keywords
